Burgundy studied art and design at the Rhode Island School of Design (where she finished top in her class) before moving to London in 2003 to work as a furniture designer - initially in the commercial sector for bedmaker Feather & Black, later designing and building her own pieces to commission.

A love for detail, precision, and quality eventually led her to jewellery, an artform to which she could readily transpose her furniture making skills whilst continuing to explore her interest in abstract forms. She trained at the London Jewellery Workshop and K2 Academy before setting up her own studio in 2018.
